A couple of years ago, Emerson Peace and Social Justice elected Professor Roger House our new adviser. EPSJ is a student organization dedicated to advocating for positive change. House has devoted his life to such causes, so it was a fitting decision.
Since coming to Emerson, I have always wanted to take one of Pierre Desir's classes.
I have taken two classes with Roger House, and I believe he deserves tenure. But I think fighting this battle exclusively in the name of racial equity is detrimental to House's image, and that of his colleague, Pierre Desir.
Student governments are often ridiculed for being ineffective. This year we've proved the naysayers wrong.
